What is the difference between industrial design & Product design? Which one is more on Technical side and which one is more on art?
I really don't know by "art", all math and science is an art form. You can solve problems either difficultly or in such a matter that it becomes a fine art. Like painting it takes time to develop nuance in ones work.
Industrial design I never really liked, you not only have to know specification but regulation required, as in putting a electric service into a house. Product design generally only requires specifications.
They would mean the same thing in many schools, just like you could study "graphic design" at one school and "visual communications" at another. But industrial design is actually a broader field, where you could potentially design products, machinery, cars, etc. Product design is usually focused more toward consumer products, electronics, etc. but not necessarily only that. Basically both are looking at defining a need and creating a three-dimensional answer. It might be an issue of surface styling for an existing product or it might be conceiving a whole new item that doesn't exist. Good design and drawing skills are important. Having ability with math, geometry, etc. is important too. There is a great website: www.idsa.org
I worked at a compressor plant and helped in the design of a controls for a gas turban. The safety requirements were extreme, not just how the turban worked in theory and controls required.
