Choose the procedure you would use to solve the equation 5x + 3 = 28 for x. Subtract three from both sides, and then divide by five on both sides. Subtract three from both sides, and then multiply by five on both sides. Divide both sides by five, and then add three to both sides. Divide both sides by five, and then subtract 28 from both sides. wouldnt the answer be A

OpenStudy (precal):

the first one

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

it would be the first one....because first...you would want to get 5x by itself on that left side.....so you would subtract 3 from both sides.....then you want to actually solve for 'x' so you would then divide both sides by 5....a.k.a answer choice 1
