Really neeed help! Medal + Fan For easy question. What is the slope of a line that passes through the point (−1, 1) and is parallel to a line that passes through (4, 6) and (−1, −4)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope will be same. So just find the slope of line that passes through (4, 6) and (−1, −4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

myko, I don't get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dan815 Can you give me the direct answer? I need a numeracal answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815 Myko basically told me to do what I am trying to figure out. It's just like me asking, what is 1+1 and then Myko saying, we'll you have to first figure out what 1+1 is, then you willl get your answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the answer then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I alreeady did learn a little.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used to know ALL about this stuff a long time ago. But forgot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The slope of the line is the rise + the run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1 to 4 we moved 5 -4 to 6 we moved 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

half?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why does x = 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh 5 and 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait, shouldnt x = 6?

OpenStudy (dan815):

ya that was type -1 to 4

OpenStudy (dan815):

typo*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, x = 5 Y = 10

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay soo first imagine what this looks like okay! and change in x =5 change in y = 10

OpenStudy (dan815):

so for 5 units right, it went up 10 units for 1 unit right, how many units up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk

OpenStudy (dan815):

ok can u see a relationship between 5 and 10 ><

OpenStudy (dan815):

basically for 5 units in x u move 10 units in y or 2*x=y

OpenStudy (dan815):

y is twice what x is right

OpenStudy (dan815):

so when x moves 1, and y is twice what x is >_> y will move by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, I see so far.

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay just remember this formula, ull understand slope later

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am on my last assignment. So is my answer 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, asking means that I need everysingle point I can get in this assignment, and I want to be completely sure of my answer.

OpenStudy (dan815):

just watch this

OpenStudy (dan815):

you need to be sure about the answer yourself

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it is 2. I will just submit that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for your time mate!

OpenStudy (dan815):

wait! please watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbcuuWC_W4A

OpenStudy (dan815):

PLEASE PLEASE WATCH!!!

OpenStudy (dan815):

dont be lazy man just watch this stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay fine, I will watch it. I promise.

OpenStudy (dan815):

wow watch right now... ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbcuuWC_W4A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am watching it.

OpenStudy (dan815):

america isnt bothering to learn simple math!!! and then when immigrants take their jobs they start crying!

OpenStudy (dan815):

i blame all that media of yours!! too many distractions lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@dan815 I saw it twice and I still did not understand or get my answer.

OpenStudy (dan815):

how is that possible Y_Y

OpenStudy (dan815):

dont u have a text book or a teacher for this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk, it gave me an example, but that example could not relate to my question.

OpenStudy (dan815):

we need a professional here

OpenStudy (dan815):

lets find u a good tutor

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sry, I closed the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't need a tutor, this is my last assignment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx though!

OpenStudy (dan815):

a question like urs look

OpenStudy (dan815):

just watch everything in khan academy

OpenStudy (anonymous):
