Alright. Draw the altitude on the triangle from vertex A. Would this be correct ? That's what I did: http://www.omegamath.com/images/quiz/planegeometry/planegeometryquiz2.1.1a2.gif I don't really know, though... Please assist :) Thanks.

sam (.sam.):

Is the altitude in red?

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

Altitude is always the perpendicular distance to a base from the vertex opposite it.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

These were all my possible answers:

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

yes, but did you understand the concept?

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

So it's e? The second to the last ?

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

Yes, I did.

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

5th choice

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

I think- What's the exact definition of the altitude ?

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

Thank you so much :D @rajee_sam

OpenStudy (rajee_sam):

That's what I wrote first. It is the perpendicular distance to a base of the triangle from the vertex opposite it. In the triangle I drew, If I consider BC as my base, the perpendicular distance from A is how I draw it. Even though it goes outside the triangle that will be your height (altitude)

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

Thanks! I understand it now. :)

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

I'm so grateful. Thank you. I got 100% on the test. :D
