Can someone help me and check my work, I'm very confused... Solve P = 2(l + w) for l. What are the missing values in the table? My work: l=(p /(2-w)) P=14 w=2 (14/(2-2)) How am I supposed to divide by 0?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[P=2(l+w)\] \[P=2l+2w\] \[P-2w=2l\] \[l=\frac{ P-2w }{ 2 }\] Substituting P=14 and w=2, \[l=\frac{14-2(2)}{2}\] \[l=\frac{14-4}{2}\] \[l=\frac{10}{2}\] \[l=5\]

You were smart to question the division by 0. Start by multiplying everything out. Your initial l = has a flaw. You need to see that to avoid doing it again.
