c) because of competitive exclusion principle that means that when two species occupy the same niche in a habitat, they compete with each other for the same resources, both abiotic and biotic factors. Since their genome is different, there must be one species that can obtain these resources in a better way than the other. Through natural selection, one species should be driven to extinction, or develop the capability of extending their niche, thus utilizing resources that the other species wouldn't use.
