See picture for Question, can't figure out why.
You're right, the graph looks like an inverse tangent function, sort of, where the horizontal asymptotes are at -3 and 3.
There is something wrong with the problem, i believe. @phi
I think you misunderstood, the red boxes show the CORRECT ANSWER, i did not put those in, i put other numbers, i guessed. I don't know how to solve.
All the answers shown are correct, i'm asking how to get there.
@Jhannybean Can you show me the work you did, the problem is fine. I can see how it looks confusing though.
\[\frac{ \sqrt{(9x^2+3x+13)}-5 }{ (x-1) }\] and it showed me something that looked like this.
Yeah thats the question.... I'm asking how to solve it. I don't know where they get 3 for positive infinity, and -3 for negative infinity from. They are the correct answers, i just don't understand how.
@tcarroll010 why don't you say anything?
Oh! okay i'll draw it. :)
Thanks : )
I thought my drawing showed up but it kicked me off OS -_-
Aww : ( No rush
|dw:1369949362518:dw| so you have this. right? \[\lim_{x \rightarrow -\infty}=-3\] and \[\lim_{x \rightarrow +\infty}= 3\] i'm going to draw arrows to represent the behavior of this limit as it approaches positive AND negative infinity.
