log6 36

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hint : \(36 = 6^2\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

given , log6 36 to evaluate this lets say that it equals to y log6 36=y in your head u can change this to exponential form by raising the base 6 to the y power and setting it equals to 36.in equation form this is 6^y=36 or,6^y=6^2 or,y=2 so now we can write,log6 36=2..

OpenStudy (uri):

Don't you have a log book? if not buy one :)

geerky42 (geerky42):

\[\log_6 36 = \log_6 6^2 = 2\log_66\] \[\text{Let } y = \log_aa \Rightarrow a^y = a\]So it makes sense that y = 1. So \(2\log_66 = 2(1) = \boxed{2}\)

OpenStudy (precal):

You don't need to buy a log book (just my opinion). But you do need to know how to convert log to exponential form (just like geerky42 demonstrated above)
