What is the 50th term of the sequence that beings -4,2,8,14. . .?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the equation to figure it out?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

So you're solving for an Arithmetic progression. \[\large a_{n}=a_{1}+(n-1)d\] your d= difference, if you subtract the preceding term by the previous term, you will have d=6. your a1 = -4. plug it into the equation to find \(\large a_{50}\) \[\large a_{50}=-4+(50-1)6\] I'll leave the rest up to you :) Simplify it and you'll get your answer !
