In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain uses allusions to help the reader connect with something familiar. An allusion is a casual reference to a familiar person, place, thing, or event. In Chapter 3, Twain uses an allusion to Don Quixote, a Spanish character in a work from Miguel de Cervantes. Don Quixote, with his sidekick Sancho Panza, goes on many real and imagined adventures. Don Quixote dreams of fighting dragons and winning the heart of his one true love. Sancho Panza is very realistic and tries to keep Don Quixote from getting into trouble. Twain was thinking of D
