OpenStudy (asnaseer):
correct - so use the hint given by ganeshie8 to solve this
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
try and express both sides as the power of the same number
OpenStudy (anonymous):
4^2x=8
unsqaure it 2=8
OpenStudy (asnaseer):

OpenStudy (asnaseer):
use that to end up with 2 to the power of something on both sides of the equals sign
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
then use the fact that since they are both 2 to the power of something then the powers must be equal
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2x = 3/2
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
yes
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x = 3/4

the way I was thinking of was more like:\[4^{2x}=8\]therefore:\[(2^2)^{2x}=2^3\]therefore:\[2^{4x}=2^3\]therefore:\[4x=3\]therefore:\[x=\frac{3}{4}\]
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
I guess you took square roots and some step above
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i like your way better
OpenStudy (asnaseer):
thx :)
