Solve S = 4v2 for v (must show work)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

You can't exactly solve this...too many unknowns...you can make an expression however im assuming you have \[S = 4v^2\] ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats what i mean

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Then you need to isolate 'v'. *make V = something so if you have S = 4v² to rearrange this...you should divide both sides by 4 S - = v² 4 and now to get 'v' completely isolated....you need to take the square root of both sides \[v = \sqrt{\frac{ S }{ 4 }}\]
