Mathematics 5 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does the graph of the straight line with slope of 5 and yintercept of -1 pass through the point (1,-2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have the equation \(y = 5x - 1\) where the slope is 5 and the intercept is -1. Now lets plug in \(y = -2\) So $$ \begin{eqnarray*} -2 &=& 5x - 1 \\ x &=& -\frac{1}{5} \end{eqnarray*} $$ So the answer is no.
