What type of agar do I need in order to culture human skin cells?

OpenStudy (zale101):

Agar remains as a solid during growth of bacteria and few microbes can degrade agar.

I'm pretty sure you can't use agar to culture human skin cells. Agar plates would be more for growing molds, bacteria, and maybe some protozoan cultures. The human skin cells you might want to culture would probably be grown in tissue culture flasks so the cells have something to adhere to. You would use a liquid base media, such as DMEM, EMEM, DMEM F-12, or Ham's base media, supplemented with fetal bovine serum and other nutritional supplements.
