OpenStudy (blaque678):

What's the next number? -125,-25,5,-1,?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

so from -125 -> 25 = +100, -25 -> 5 = +20 , 5 -> -1 = -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The next number is just \[-\frac{ 1 }{ 5 }\]

OpenStudy (blaque678):

wrong answer

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Check your signs. It's not a realistic sequence.

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

It's not arithmetic, and it's not geometric. Check the question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am gonna tell you why I got -1/5 just now....I got that answer because I could see that to get the nex term I keep on diving by 5

OpenStudy (blaque678):

I tried -1/5 and -6.Both are wrong

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Yep, there is no difference to make it an arithmetic progression or reduction, nor is there a ratio to make it a geometric sequence.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Guys stop talking wrong things here please the correct answer is \[-\frac{ 1 }{ 5 }\]

OpenStudy (blaque678):

-1/5 is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You divide each term by 5 or multiply each term by 1/5 to get the next term of the sequence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your sequence to be valid should have looked something like this man \[-125,-25,-5,-1,-\frac{ 1 }{ 5 },-\frac{ 1 }{ 25 } etc\]

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Then you have posted it wrong. Post it EXACTLY as written. Be very careful about your signs.
