Choose the polynomial that is written in standard form. 2x2y2 + 3x4y + 10x6 4x4y2 + 6x3y5 + 10x −3x8y2 + 9x2y + 10x2 −7x6y2 + x3y8 + 10x2

@ash2326

OpenStudy (ash2326):

A standard polynomial is of the form \[ax^m y^n+ax^{m-1}y^{n-1}+.....\] such that m+n is highest for the first term, and then decreases as we move right. For example \[x^3y^3+xy^2+xy\] Do you understand this @unheard ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kind of...

OpenStudy (ash2326):

For the first term m+n =6. for second 3 and third 2 It's decreasing, so it's a standard polynomial. Now you check which option satisfies this criteria ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So basically, which one is in decreasing numbers?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

yes :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The exponents or the actual numbers? o.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The third one?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

exponent ,

OpenStudy (ash2326):

yes, you are right
