How can i do this Graph the solution on a number line for this equation: (x-6)(x-2)<0
http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28x-6%29%28x-2%29 The graph shows that the left side will be zero when x=6 and 2
but we want it to be lower than zero so that means that our values for y have to be below zero or as the graph shows between 2 and 6
between 2 and 6 for x
oh so i just make both of the factored thing equal to zero
nevermind, i just read the other reply
well yeah it shows you right there (x-6)(x-2) when you plug in x=2 you have 2-2=0 on the right factor right. same goes with the left factor.
Since this is concave up the x values have to be between 2 and 6 if this was concave down then the x values would be below 2 and higher than 6.
