PLEASE HELP!!!!! 1. How does the suicidal impulse that both Romeo and Juliet exhibit relate to the overall theme of young love? Does Shakespeare seem to consider a self-destructive tendency inextricably connected with love, or is it a separate issue? Why do you think so?
While Romeo and Juliet never doubt the power of love, other characters criticize love and reject is as simply infatuation or lust. Some people interpret the play as a cautionary tale on the dangers of young love.
Here's an example of what you're talking about, that is relevant even if you don't believe in God. But, look at Jesus Christ. He came to this Earth. He had to endure being spat at, lived in the desert for 40 days, and he carried the cross he died on. Now, if I were him, I don't know if I could exude such courage, and eat the very large piece of humble pie that he swallowed when he died on that cross and said "Forgive them father of their sins for they know not what they do." and his blood took away everyone's sin(according to one's individual belief) But, if that's not love then I don't know what is.
did that help? or do you need more information?
yes that helped, thankyou!
