Graph the inequality on a coordinate plane. -y <= 3x-5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope = -3 y-intercept = 5 Shaded down with a solid line

OpenStudy (kenljw):

-y <= 3x-5 I'd first multiply by -1 y > -3x+5 so it every thing above the this line with a slope -3 and a y-intercept 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Slope of -3 means for every time it goes right 1, it goes down 3. And I made a mistake, it's shaded UP with a solid line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It starts at 5 on the y-axis

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I wont use a solid line, it implies it's included

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, I still don't understand it at all...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (kenljw):

y > -3x+5 this implies that y must be greater then the equation of the line. remember when multiplying/ dividing by a negative number must change the inequality -1 < 1 if I multiply by -1 1 > -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's D?

OpenStudy (kenljw):

I don't have selection

There is a document about 4 comments up ^

Yes the answer is D, you can tell because the slope on answer choice D is -3/1 and the shading is going to the right because the sign is > (greater than) and when the sign is > (greater than) you shade UP when the sign is < (less than) you shade DOWN.
