OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you factor (e^x/2+e^-x/2) (e^x/2+e^-x/2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could take out an e^-x/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how?

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

Get rid of the negative exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh no i just realized i typed "factor" on accident its suppose to foil not factor....

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

That IS a different can of worms. Still,, eliminate the negative exponents.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh why do you eliminate them?

OpenStudy (noelgreco):

You don't have to, it just makes things easier \[(\frac{ e ^{x} }{ 2 }+\frac{ 1 }{ 2e ^{x} })^{2}\]
