The roots of a certain polynomial are -2/5, -6 and 4/3. What might the linear factors of the polynomial be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My book gives nothing on the roots, so I am a bit confused as to what I should do with these "roots"

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i root is when f(x) = 0

OpenStudy (amistre64):

given a set of roots: {\(\Large r_1,r_2,r_3,...,r_n\)} the factors produced are: \(\Large(r_1-x)~(r_2-x)~(r_3-x)~...~(r_n-x)\)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or you can swap the x and root parts .... theyll still produce a 0 in the product

@amistre64 ok, thank you:)
