HELPPPPP PWEELLZZ how do u draw angles on here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1370536719632:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are those lines parallel to each other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya I guess...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, in that case, there is a trick in geometry when a line is cutting two parallel lines like you have in your drawing. look at the following |dw:1370537050683:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this case a=d; e=h; f=g; c=b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also a=e b=f c=g d=h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, I know tht but in this case I don think its true since the equations are different and bec of the previous angle questionss

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure i understand your question then, are you being asked to solve for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, since you know these two angles are equal to each other you can do -1+14x=12x+17 and solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then to check and get the actual measurements of the angles plug back your x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wooowww...I cant believe I 4got tht, lol. thnk u so muchhh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your are welcome, let me know what you get for x, that way i can check my ans too ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I got x=9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep that is what i get,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thnx...can I ask u 4 something else? I need help wid another question :P....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure
