okay so we can add 'like' terms... meaning 11x^2 and -5x^2 are 'like' terms
OpenStudy (uri):
Sign is going to change when it shifts there.

so we add 5x^2 to both sides of the equation and we get
16x^2 - 7 = 2
then add 7 to both sides to get
16x^2 = 9
now we can take the square root of both sides to get [(4x)^2 = 16 btw...]
4x = 3
divide by 4 on both sides to get
x = 3/4

So in the end we have (5x - 6)(x - 1)
