For the right triangle shown, what is the sine of angle C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first off is it clear that \(C=30\) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since the angles have to add up to \(180\) degrees, one is 90, one is 60, so the other one \(C\) must be 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that; I just don't have a calculator...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you are being asked for \(\sin(30)\) do you know it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol of course you do, you are on a computer!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wouldn't hurt to know that \[\sin(30)=\frac{1}{2}\] however also \[\sin(60)=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}\] is a good one to memorize

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i can't find a sin, cos, and tan calculator though. but thank you!

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=sin%2830%29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you don't need a "sine" calculator type it in to wolfram
