Expand and simplify difference of squares

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\huge (\sqrt{x}-\sqrt{2})(\sqrt{x}+\sqrt{2})\]

OpenStudy (yrelhan4):

Identity: (a+b)(a-b)=a^2-b^2 .. You can evaluate this by solving the two brackets.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

when you multiply two same radicals, the radicals are undone so you should have x and 2, and since your factor contains - and +, you wouldn't have a middle term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would the answer just be (x-2) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes
