Okay so I'm doing a project for math and it says Note the dimensions, what does Note the dimensions mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Height, Length, Width.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is physics. where quantities have dimensions. for example: velocity is m(s^-1), therefore it is length(dimension for displacement)/time(time, same thing)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so pretty much what FutureMathProfessor said height, length and width?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

volume is m^3. therefore is it a product of 3 lengths, no matter wat name it is(height, width). dimension of volume will be length^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Medal? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. height, length and width are just different names for the same dimension, length.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay okay okay... i have a cube.... what are the "dimensions" for it? |dw:1370750346333:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the sides are 5mm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x5x5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5mm x 5mm x 5mm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so thats the dimensions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is the quantity. not volume -.- 25 mm^3 is the quantity. dimension have no value, just length^3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The dimensions are Length x Width x Height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay! thanks so much!
