state whether b ∈ {a b c d e f} is a true statement if not explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you figure that out? I am not grasping any of this yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because B is a member of the set {a,b,c,d,e}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Translation: Do you see b in here? {a,b,c,d,e}

OpenStudy (zarkon):

\[b \in \{a,\color{red}{ b}\color{black}, c, d, e, f\}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so if the letter before the brackets is in the brackets then it is a true equation.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

it is a true statement...it is not an equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

E = Is a member of

OpenStudy (zarkon):

\(\in\) = "is a member of"
