PLZ HELP ME FRNDZZZZZZZ When Raoul goes to the gym, he does 5 different exercises: bench press, squats, treadmill, leg press, and chin ups. If Raoul always does chin ups before he does bench press, how many different ways can he order his workout?
hmm, ideally there would be 5*4*3*2*1 ways to schedule it 1*1*3*2*1 but the restriction seems to indicate that it should be something like this
a,b,c,d,e ; lets assume d,e have to be in that order a,b,c,d,e a,c,b,d,e b,a,c,d,e b,c,a,d,e c,a,b,d,e c,b,a,d,e there are 6 ways to run thru it with de at the end, which is what out 1*1*3*2*1 indicates but we can also shift around the de 3 more times for a total of 4 permuations
6*4 = 24
but then again, it doesnt say that e has to follow d immediatley, only that it has to be after it
i might be thinking into that too much, d right before e seems appropriate
so wht l b da ans???
im sure its the one i posted ....
bt 24 is incrct i dnt knw the crct ans bt i knw that itz incrct
then my second thought was more appropriate ... the information is then telling us that the order of d,e is not restricted to one right after the other ....
i hv gt the ans
we know that for each permuation, there are 6 results ___de __d_e _d__e d___e 4 positions, 3 positions, 2 positions, 1 position each time 6 6*4 + 6*3 + 6*2 + 6 6(10) = 60
yup u r rite
