A small company had 10,000 shares. Joan ownes 200 of these shares. The company decides to split its shares. What is Joans ownership percentage after the split?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Exactly what it is before the split! To find the ownership percentage, divide the number of shares owned by the total number of shares, and convert to a percentage. For example, if I own 5 shares, and 1000 shares are outstanding, my ownership fraction is 5/1000 = 0.005 of the shares, which is 0.005*100% = 0.5 %.

WRONG 2%
