In the selection from Margaret Atwood's The Penelopiad how is Odysseus transformed from an epic hero into a common man? A. He has become tired of adventure B.He has become fearful and cowardly C.He has become selfish and unreliable D.He had become a low-ranking official
I would personally choose A simply for the fact that I've read The Odyssey and that is exactly what it seemed like to me.
Okay thanks! I have like 9 fill in the blanks just on usual english questions could u help?
He was never selfish or unreliable. Quite the opposite. He was never fearful other than of his wife marrying another suitor, and he sure wasn't a coward. He was never low-ranking. He was the best hunter, not to mention, he was the only one that could string his bow. That showed tremendous strength when no one else who tried to string it, could.
Probably, I excel in english.

Okay i sure will :)
I do have on essay question if u dont mind??
Sure.
Choose one selection from the list below that you think is the most suspenseful and frightening. Persuade your reader why it is the scariest and support your arguments by citing the elements of the horror genre it contains. Be sure to include specific plot elements as well. "the most dangerous game" "the cast of Amontillado" "the lottery" "the raven"
Well, which one do you think is the scariest?
Since you have to write the essay, it should be on the one you think is scariest. I can help you figure out how to write it out and find ways to persuade a reader why it's the scariest. But I won't write it for you.
probably the raven
of the most dangerous game
Why would you say the raven?
t's late at night, and late in the year (after midnight on a December evening, to be precise). A man is sitting in his room, half reading, half falling asleep, and trying to forget his lost love, Lenore. Suddenly, he hears someone (or something) knocking at the door. He calls out, apologizing to the "visitor" he imagines must be outside. Then he opens the door and finds…nothing. This freaks him out a little, and he reassures himself that it is just the wind against the window. So he goes and opens the window, and in flies (you guessed it) a raven. The Raven settles in on a statue above the door, and for some reason, our speaker's first instinct is to talk to it. He asks for its name, just like you usually do with strange birds that fly into your house, right? Amazingly enough, though, the Raven answers back, with a single word: "Nevermore." Understandably surprised, the man asks more questions. The bird's vocabulary turns out to be pretty limited, though; all it says is "Nevermore." Our narrator catches on to this rather slowly and asks more and more questions, which get more painful and personal. The Raven, though, doesn't change his story, and the poor speaker starts to lose his sanity.
okay, that would be quite frightening. But so would being hunted down by a madman on an island you cannot leave that he specifically built to hunt you on.
exactly
If I were you, I'd go with the raven simply for the fact that you can't escape insanity. Losing your mind is truly terrifying compared to losing your life.
hahaha okay i think i got this now but how would u compare and contrast the characteristics of romeo and Odysseus??
well, for one. Romeo died with his love. He commited suicide in her tomb. Odysseus kept journeying home instead of giving up. there's one example.
okay that would be more of a difference right??? so what would be something you could compare?
They both fought for their loves. Odysseus fought all those obsticles, scilla and charybdis, cyclops, poseidon, etc. to get to penelope before she remarried. I don't remember exactly what romeo did. I remember Juliet drank something that put her in a state that made her seem as though she was dead and when romeo foud out, he thought she truly was dead so he killed himself in her tomb so they could be together in death.
Okay totally got it thanks!
