@MotherOfGod

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you what an asymptode is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not exactly. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in layman's language,its the point at which the function is not defined.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I found the exact definition. a line that a graph approaches as x or y increases in absolute value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To start would I just plug in the values? y=7/x---> 2=7/1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your answer should be y-2=7/(x-1).it is so because,when you plug in x=1,you get 0 in the denominator,making the function undefined at x=1.similarly you can also write the equation as x-1=7/(y-2),making y=2 an asymptode for similar reason. does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm trying to follow. So that would be my equation? How would I graph that? :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes,that would be the equation. http://www.purplemath.com/modules/fcntrans.htm this ones for the graphical transformations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am so so so confused. D;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your equation would be y-2=7/(x-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How would I graph that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and go through that link,graphing is something which takes a lot of time to understand and to explain.i guess,reading some good stuff on it will surely help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thing is I have a a lot of math problems due tomorrow, :(((

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what the graph of y=k/x looks like?(k is any constant)
