congruence

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

i think that it is yes bc of SSA is proven

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

SSA is not a congruence rule.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

we cannot use it for proving triangles are congruent.;

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

have a quick look at this :- http://www.mathopenref.com/congruentssa.html

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

it says clearly why SSA is not a congruence rule.

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

ah ok so how do i do it

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

could this problem use SAS?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Given information says that, two sides and the angle not included between them are congruent. The given information is not sufficient to prove triangles are congruent because, the SSA thingy gives two different triangles that may or may not be congruent. So we cannot use SSA to prove triangles are congruent. Hence the given given info in not sufficient to conclude whether triangles are congruent or not.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

nope. we cannot use SAS, cuz, the Angle is not included between the sides.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

draw the both triangles, and mark congruent sides. u will see.

OpenStudy (highschoolmom2010):

ohh so not enough information to conclude congruency

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Yes not enough info
