which natural resource is found in the Sahara? A. gold B. silver C. salt D. water
D. ~Water~
^Wrong. You can't say water, the Sahara is a desert. Sure it rains, but it can't be collected because the rain is random. There are salt mines in the Sahara! As well as ore mines I'm not sure about gold/silver ore tho. So I say salt!
^Wrong. Sahara has multiple oases. http://www.infoplease.com/encyclopedia/world/sahara-water-other-resources.html
By the way. it says "Natural resource" Oasis is natural resources. Like you said, Sahara has salts - from salt mines. And salt mines isn't natural resources.
That is the wrong definition of natural resource... "A natural resource is anything people can use which comes from nature. People do not make natural resources, but gather them from the earth." -Wikipedia. Water is present at or just below the surface gravel in wadis (intermittent streams) that radiate from the mountain massifs, in scattered oases where the water table comes to the surface, and at greater depths in huge underground aquifers. The aquifers are believed to be filled with water dating from the Pleistocene epoch, when the Sahara was much wetter than it is today and had very large lakes. The more than 20 lakes (called chotts in the north) and areas of salt flats and boggy salt marshes are also considered relics from this pluvial period. Yes, I see my mistake. :P But technically most these resources can be found there, NOT just water. Also salt is one of the massively collected resource. (For profit and people.) Not just for small villages. Look here: http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2027057,00.html "Wetter Than the Sahara! (On the Moon, That's Good)," see? As for minerals: "iron ore," is the only one that is common. Only real possible answer is water and salt. Honestly, I just picked salt because of the case stated above.
