Solve (x + 2 < 5) ∩ (x - 7 > -6).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k lets solve first one and don't mind < this sign that much just take it as equal to and then solve both of then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it will be (x = 3) ∩ (x = 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this will be the result now replace = with < in first > and in second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we will have two statements first is saying x < 3 (...-1,0,1,2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and second is saying x > 1 (2,3,4,5,6...) therefore we have two statements now we will solve it '∩' this sign means write common things between two objects

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the common thing in both the sets will be 2 u can see it therefore answer is 2 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, i was wondering what that sign meant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get it now and if u wanna understand these type of sign just study sets basic u will get it :) bye
