OpenStudy (bekkah323):

(x+y-3)(x+y+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the FOILS method and go one by one to each part of the expression until you have a long line of the answer. When you do the FOIL method, you can rearrange it into standard form. I know my answer is kind of broad, so if you need additional help step by step just let me know!

OpenStudy (bekkah323):

x^2+xy+3x+yx+y^2+3y-3x-3y-9 not sure if that is right @applelover

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is exactly right! Good job!(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now our next step, is to put it in standard form.

OpenStudy (bekkah323):

what is standard form, is that combining like terms or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes and no. standard form is where you order your answer in order. For instance all the x^2 and x's go together and all the y^2 and y's go together..then when you have it laid out like that where everything is practically grouped with each other, you can combine like terms a lot easier.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From there, that will be your answer. Once you have it in standard from and combined properly, you're all set! :)

OpenStudy (bekkah323):

would it be x^2+2xy+y^2+3y-9 @applelover

OpenStudy (bekkah323):

minus the 3y though
