Suppose a clock radio is on sale at a 15% discount. If it normally sells for $39.95, what is the sale price? a. $45.94 c. $5.99 b. $24.95 d. $33.96

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

same thing as the other question, now you multiply 39.95 x .85

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how you have .85?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

the reason why you multiply by 0.85, is because the discount if 15%, so you pay 85% which is the difference, so 85% = .85

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

or you could multiply 39.95 x .15, that will give you the discount, but then you have to subtract the discount for the 39.95, is one extra step if you do it that way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be d? o.O

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ivettef365):
