Write an expression for two times the product of −6 and 4x and then simplify it.

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

2((-6)(4x))

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

@BluEyedAngel try this one

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

hey there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ii got something different

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

ok shoot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2[(-6)(4x)=0

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

same thing

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

-6 * 4x = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well-24x

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

yes now.. 2(-24x) = ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u dont have the 2 there anymore. you move that over so it becomes (-6)(4x)=2 by dividing both sides by 2, therefore canceling the 2 on the left with eachother and the right equLS 2

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

we are simplifying, not solving for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OHHHHH i was solving which is uaually what simplify means

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

its to simplify a word problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gotcha
