Solve for x. x2 + 6x = 0 A. 0, -6 B. 0, 6 C. 1, -6 D. 1, 6

get x by itself on one side. then it will be easier to get the answer and compare with the possible choices

remember that when you square a negative it become positive, and when you multiply and positive by a negative then it will be negative. That should help narrow it down

First off, take the common factor: \[x^{2}+6x=0\]\[x(x+6)=0\] Using the zero factor theorem (at least that's what I think it's called), equate each factor on the left-hand side to zero and solve to obtain \[x=0, x=-6\]
