Which is more challenging for you factoring trinomials or factor by grouping and why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to be honest i dont know much about ethier of these.. soo umm ya if you solve this it dosnt matter witch one you choose.

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

ny grouping?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i ment by*

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

not sure, both not too shabby to wrestle

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha i dont know anything about ethier one.

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

ok what would u like to know?

OpenStudy (asapbleh):

Is this asking about your individual opinion? If it is, then I would say factoring trinomials. That is because trinomials have an extra step you need to do in order to factor than quadratics.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I think you can answer this by experience. first question that should come to mind is "do I know both ways of factoring?"

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

remember that in a perfect trinomial, it is very easy to factor it out if your leading coefficient is 1, but it becomes difficult when it isn't. that's when you have other methods like the quadratic formula.

OpenStudy (rmrjr22):

yes, very true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so could that be my answer?

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

well it depends… do you even know how to factor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a little bit

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

factor x^2+32x+16
