so you want to solve it for x -3x +1 > 4 subtract 1 from both sides -3x > 3 divide by -3 from both sides ***note*** when you divide by a negative number in an inequality, you have to flip the sign over x < -1 open circle because x is not <= -1.... just <-1 shade to the right because it is greater than -1
