Which of the choices is the variance of the sample shown here? 35, 37, 42, 57, 61, 70

OpenStudy (anonymous):

choices?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

If I remember correctly....to find the variance 1) find the mean of these numbers 2) subtract the mean from each of the individual numbers 3) take each of those differences...square them each.....add all together 4) divide by amount of numbers So first...what is the mean of these numbers...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.) compute the mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mean = Adding them up and dividing by the total number of #'s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\frac{ 35 + 37 + 42 + 57 + 61 +70 }{ 6 }\) = mean
