Verify the identity!

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

\[\cot \theta *\sec \theta =\csc \theta \]

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

@timo86m ?

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Convert them into sin and cos, what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2nd method is to graph left side then right side and if they match at each point it is an ID however. I think most professors want it algabraically.

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

\[\frac{ \cos \theta }{ \sin \theta }*\frac{ 1 }{ \cos \theta }\]

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

im confused

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

What part?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

go with luigis explanation is better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=cot%28x%29*sec%28x%29+%2C+csc%28x%29&dataset= look at graph they lay right on top of eachother.

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

i have a calc i dont have a thetha sign though.. and that graph doesnt help me cuse i dont understand it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the graph is an ID cuzz it lays right on top of it. but here it is algebriacly

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

Okay but it says verify the identity so im confused what to put down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cot =a/o sec=h/a csc=h/o so i think cot(x)*sec(x) = csc(x) is a/o * h/a = h/0 confirm that somehow think in terms of just a o and h :D I thinkk.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a/o * h/a = h/o

OpenStudy (erinweeks):

okay but it says verify so i write what you wrote down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me draw it :D |dw:1372486114590:dw|
