if i have a line from (-3,-2) to (6,6) how do i write the equation?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

determine the slope between the points

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the rest is just applying that slope to either of the given points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please explain because im not that good at graphs. Thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

you want to define the equation as: y = m(x-a) + b for a given point (a,b) and a slope (m)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the question presupposes your ability to define the slope between 2 points

OpenStudy (amistre64):

otherwise you could setup a system of equations: given 2 points (a,b) and (p,q) ax + by = 0 px + qy = 0 and solve for x and y
