If S = {students in Chemistry class} and subset B = {girls in Chemistry class}, what is B′? {boys in Chemistry class} {students in chemistry class} { } {girls in chemistry class}
yea what i was thinking but then it asks for boys and not the change in girls
B' means B prime, (everything thats NOT B)...
i was just thinking that {boys in chemistry} meant we were looking for that
B prime is a derivative tho, but it could have more then one meaning i guess
what the hell is calculus im taking algebra lol
B' is the complement of B which means everything in S that is not in B and so B' is the set of boys.
ah i see
so B' is the boys in the chem class. no?
B' is the complement of B which means everything in S that is not in B and so B' is the set of boys.
if B is girls then B prime would be boys
It is NOT B prime. It is B complement.
ooohhhh my bad mertsj that make more sense now.
Well pellet, im confused
lol...pellet...
but no kidding, iam more confused than i originally was
B prime and B complement are the same thing, he can say B PRIME, and it will still mean the same thing as B complement, FYI @Mertsj
@satellite73 please help... :)
the compliment of B is everything in the universal set that is not in B in this case the universal set is all people in chemistry class B is all the girls in it the compliment of B is therefore all students in the chemistry class that are not girls
often called "boys"
