Help me please... Find y (i already found x)

OpenStudy (aonz):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

71 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

assuming the diameter is perpendicular to the base

OpenStudy (aonz):

yea i found x i just need to find y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is probably some theorem on angles and circles you should know, notice that the upper side of that parallelogram is the radius of the circle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

shouldn't x and y be same??

OpenStudy (aonz):

def not they are not parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the angle opposite to 121 and below y is 109..so that 121+71+59+109=360...so y=180-109=71..correct me if m wrong

OpenStudy (aonz):

but it isnt supplementary so one below y isnt 109

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what isn't supplementary?360 condition??yes it is

OpenStudy (aonz):

points are NOT concyclic...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't think so...well..wait for a better solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer i think lies in this theorem that... the angle subtended by a part of the circle at the centre is double the angle subtended by the that same part of the circle in the remaining part of the circumference... which gives y very easily...

OpenStudy (aonz):

hmm well i am thinking about that :/
