Find the difference of (−4x2 − 7x3 − 2) − (8x3 + 3x − 7x2)
how did you get that?
When you or subtract polynomials, you add and subtract, like regular numbers, with the like terms, so the x's go together and the x^2's go together and all the numbers without x's go together
oh crap sorry
why
I didn't see on of them right, and its because http://www.mathsisfun.com/algebra/polynomials-adding-subtracting.html
oh okay well whats the right answer?
\[(-7x^3-4x^2+0x-2)-(8x^3-7x^2+3x+0)=-15x^3+3x^2-3x-2\]
how did you get "(−7x3−4x2+0x−2)" by combining?
I filled in that missing part
Since the first one didn't have an x, i filled it in with 0x because 0 times anytinng is 0
no but why is 7x3 in front of 4x2
Oh i rearragned it, you usually put higher degrees in front
It's just to not get confused \[4x^2+4x+4\] ^this is an example, see how the first x has a two, then the second x doesn't have anything, and the leas tnumber, there is o x, yeah well your original problem looked something like this \[4x+4x^2+4\] so i just moved it around, it doesn;t change the value
oh okay so what were the quations after combining the likike terms?
-15x^3+3x^2-3x-2
Try looking at the website
and thats the answer also? and ok I will
