Alex made a sketch for a poster contest. The sketch measures 4 in. × 5 in. The scale factor from the sketch to the finished poster was 2 in. to 5 in. What were the dimensions of the poster?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

The "scale factor" says for every 2 inches, stretch it out to 5 inches. The finished should be 5/2 bigger than the original. So for a 4 inch line in the original, the finished line should be 4 x (5/2) = 10 and for a 5 inch line in the origianl, the finished line would be 5 x (5/2) = 12.5 so it would be 10 in x 12.5 in I believe
