Okay, B-2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@FriedRice , me and @terenzreignz were just continuing our discussion
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no i think its that one
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
Although, feel free to jump in, the question is
Find the equation of the line parallel to 2x + 3y = 6
and passing through the intersection of x = 0 and 3x + 2y - 6 = 0
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
As usual, what we need to get our mystery line is a slope and a point through it which it passes. Right?

i think so...
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
Well, Derek Earl... (LOL) What is the slope of the line 2x + 3y = 6 ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-2/3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and the y intercept is 3
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
doesn't matter, we only need the slope :)

si i'm gonna use the slope point again,,
OpenStudy (anonymous):
*so
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
So, the slope of this line is -2/3
And our mystery line is parallel to this line.
What does that tell you about the slope of the mystery line?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the slope of the mystery line si congruent to the slope,??
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
Yes. More like equal (not congruent) but close enough :P
so the slope of the mystery line is -2/3
Now all we need is a point where this line goes through... any suggestions?

i was going to say equal but i like the term congruent more, xDDD
OpenStudy (anonymous):
thats the point (0,3)
terenzreignz (terenzreignz):
Very good :)
Now just find the equation, and head on home :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
xD
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5/3
