Is there anything that's faster than light?

OpenStudy (jh3power):

Well..yeah... it's light.

OpenStudy (jh3power):

is it not ironic?

OpenStudy (jh3power):

but when light is faster than light(c, as we know it), the information within light is not conserved. so.. it 'can' be said that light(c) is the fastest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. up to now, nothing is faster than light. But there is some theory in quantum world , according to which some information can be exchanged instantaneously. it happens in the case of quantum entangled objects.

OpenStudy (jh3power):

hmm...could you explain more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand quantum entanglement?

OpenStudy (jh3power):

well... i guess no.

OpenStudy (jh3power):

if you briefly explain it could turn out that i had already known it though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the information travels faster than the speed of light? Is this tested?! I know a bit about quantum entanglement from the popular documentaries, but haven't touched it in my undergrad physics courses yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes there is one consideration on which i am working that is occilation of photons is faster if taken in half cycle
