Write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form with a slope of -5 and a y-intercept of -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope-intercept form is y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. so this question is a direct substitution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the general form is in y=mx+c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know but i cant really get past the y= -5x -1 part

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you are given that c=-1 and m= -5, then you have substitute it in the equation and your final answer will be y=-5x-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i need to know how to do this from start to finish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

wel come
